Sumatra Boru Kerinci

This particular lot comes from a longstanding relationship with a cooperative called Kopi Alam Kerinci (ALKO), which now has 516 members who cultivate on small family-owned plots of land located around Mount Kerinci, the highest volcano in Indonesia. The cooperative works closely with producers to decrease forest encroachment.

The aromatics of butterscotch, black tea, and citrus fruit open into a full, creamy body and a soft blueberry acidity. Lush notes of tarragon, carnation, nougat and vanilla linger into the long, buttery finish.

On the slopes of the highest volcano in Indonesia, Mt Kerinci, the members of Barokah Cooperative nurture their coffee trees in the Sumatran Tiger habitat. The cherry is de-pulped and washed at the cooperative, which gives the coffee a sweeter and cleaner flavor profile.

Vanilla and dill aromas give way to blackberry, pear, and hazelnut flavors. A soft grape–like acidity complements the rich viscous body, melting into a sweet, balanced finish with hints of basil and tamarind.
